The Durojoint System
The Durojoint system was developed by Australian boat designer David Payne in the 1980’s in Fiji. It is a method for fabricating small aluminium dinghies without the need for welding equipment.
The advantages of the Durojoint system is that it has been proven to be stronger than welded joints on boats constructed with plate less than 2mm thick. It is also suitable for use of boats in the remote areas of Indonesia where there are generally no aluminium welding facilities to fix welded joints when they fail. Our 140L and 140HD boats are constructed using the Durojoint system.
